Speedo and MisFit have combined forces to launch a new ‘Fitness Tracker’ called Speedo Shine. Specially crafted for swimmers and adorned in the color “pure”, it has been taking over the charts.

‘Misfit’ has joined hands with Speedo for a brand new and highly efficient version of its Shine ‘Fitness Tracker’ – Speedo Shine. As you may have realized by now with the word of Speedo- Yes! It is aimed at being especially crafted for swimming.

The two brands have combined efforts to capture the eyes of swimmers everywhere. Having already launched the Misfit Shiner Tracker and receiving a tremendous response, the new version sports some exciting new features. It is still waterproof to 50m, and highly capable of tracking exercise via a 3-axis accelerometer. Other features here to stay are its sustenance for six months without the need for recharging thanks to its watch battery.

Speedo has a reputation for doing things with perfection and has helped Misfit boost the accuracy of its swim tracking by having the product developed in its Aqua lab in Nottingham, UK.

The improved algorithms account for track laps and lengths in the pool, as well as distance and calories burned. So you can be sure the Misfit Shine does not disappoint. You also still have the luxury of step and sleep monitoring, and basic tracking of running, cycling and other sports.

This can all be achieved through the Misfit app. The swimming features though can be accessed through a Speedo Fit app. The questions of the hour lies with those that already have a Misfit Shine, the answer to this is not here yet, but we are hoping the apps are compatible with the previous models as well.

Speedo Shine is endorsed by the chic Speedo athlete, fitness ambassador, and Olympic Gold Medalist Missy Franklin. “One of the most difficult parts of swimming for fitness is keeping track of laps and the Speedo Shine eliminates that challenge,” said Franklin. “With the Speedo Shine, you can focus on getting the most out of your water workout and it’s also a great looking accessory to wear.”

Adding a touch of whimsy to the product marketing the Speedo Shine came up with a color by the name of “Pure”. Being from the family of pale silvers this color is rumoured to be attained only by mixing unicorn hair and the blood of Michael Phelps. So yes, let’s not try that at home.

The Speedo Shine comes with two types of sports bands and an activity clip. Shine is set to be $79.99 and will be available from 1 September. You can get one from the MisFit website, Speedo Store and exclusively in Apple Stores.
