Pilgrimage of any type is considered cleansing for the soul, on the path of enlightenment. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is one such pilgrimage involving circumambulating Mount Kailash to worship and delight the residing deity Lord Shiva. Pilgrims set on this long journey by foot to accomplish this holy odyssey which will bring good fortune and lords blessings to them. Kailash Mansarovar tends to be one toughest (and expensive) pilgrimage of the Hindus.
Therefore it is not possible for everyone to pack their bags and set on for Kailash Mansarovar.The journey was of 14 days,from India– Nepal – Tibet and then to Kailash Mountain. I was accompanied by my 2 friends who wanted to visit this Yatra. It is a difficult journey but to be in the midst of nature is just amazing. During our visit to Kailash Mansarovar we captured innumerable heart throbbing photographs of the journey.
The Light and sounds play their own games and one such effect of Kailash Mansarovar is very surprising; it leaves on
speechless as it changes colour from milky white to golden yellow with the rising sun.
Another peculiar view is the reflection of moon in a full moon night in Mansarovar Lake. Some of the scenes are mesmerizing. Vegetation ad natural flower decorations on rock spellbound the travellers on the way. The pictures depict the different and amazing things existing in nature. One angle shows four features of nature in a radius of just 2 kms only. Desert followed by water then greenery after that you see the Rocky Mountains and finally the ice. The place has no greenery, and the only vegetation is small plants that grew wherever they found little land. .
Gauri Kund a frozen lake in Mansarovar is said to be the place as per Hindu mythology whereGoddess ‘PARVATI’ used to take bath. This place is surrounded by snow and mud.
Not just a pilgrimage but the journey to Kailash Mansarovar is a journey to the soul.
