The heart of India is what they call Madhya Pradesh. One can take a glimpse of the history and culture of MP in the form of its strong standing forts which hold in the tales of love, beauty, valour, trickery and even bloody battles. These forts speak out loud of their masters, who ruled them with great royalty and formed their presence in this state. The forts are not only famous for their ingenious architecture but also have mysterious stories to tell. For example the Asirgarh Fort has great stories about its trade; Mandu has its love and romance of Baz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati, whereas the Chanderi Fort has its Khooni Darwaza which tells us brutal tales of murder and execution. Standing amidst the growing development and reminding us of their past we take you through the top magnificent forts of Madhya Pradesh.

The most famous attraction of this place is the the Shrine of Hazrat Peer Fatehullah Shah Baba who was a well known Muslim saint. The fort is a great example of religious integrity as there are Masjids and Mazars situated in a same campus. It has a good water management and conservation system. Also there are 40 wells and several caves with wall paintings.

It is an ancient fort situated near village Navali in Bhanpura tehsil of Mandsaur district. The fort has many sculptures of various periods. The Nandi and Uma-Maheshwar sculptures were sent from there to France and Washington for display in Indian festivals. The statues recovered trace back to 4th-5th century AD.

It is also the name of a sub urban area of Jabalpur. It is famous for the historical Durgavati fort. A railway station of that area has also been named Madan Mahal.

Maheshwar is a City in Khargone district. The fort is surrounded with festivals and celebrations. There are many places to visit like the gold swing. It also has the temple of Goddess Vindhyavasini Bhavani, one of the 24 Shaktipeeths of Goddess Parvati.

It is situated in the Satpura Range. The fort was built by Asa Ahir of the Ahir dynasty. The fort has ancient inscriptions written in Pali.

It is situated in Bandhavgarh in Umaria district. It is surrounded by hills on all the sides.the valleys between the hills end in small meadows locally known as ‘bohera’. The fort is also home to many of the endangered species of Vulture in India

It is located in Ashok Nagar district. It is surrounded by hills, lakes and forests and there are several monuments of Bundela Rajputs and Malwa Sultans. Mahabharata says that Shishupal was the king of the place.

It is located in the Malwa region. It is on a rocky terrain and showcases amazing skills of the artisans of that era. The wall encloses a large number of palaces, mosques, Jain temples of 14th century and other buildings.

It was built in the 8th century. It consists of two main palaces Gurjari Mahal and Man Mandir, built by Man Singh Tomar. It is now an archaeological museum.
