What exactly is Taxidio?

Taxidio (www.taxidio.com) is an online DIY (Do It Yourself) trip planner that recommends the right holiday destination based on the travel preferences of the user, creates fully customisable itineraries, offers in-depth travel guides, and undertakes hotel and attraction bookings.

The portal also offers pre-planned itineraries which are created by experts to give you a starting point to plan your trip.

What was the idea behind starting it?

We have always loved travelling, and the more we travelled, we realised that no matter how easy it sounds to plan a trip (considering the various planning options available), the actual process of planning is rather complicated and highly fragmented.

We realised how much lacking the automated trip planning industry is when it comes to recommending the right holiday destinations, the right hotel options and just information about different cities at large.

There is no single website or app that encompasses all these features under the same roof. So, Taxidio was a born out of the sheer need to simplify this complex process that travel planning is.

How does Taxidio work for a user?

We ask the users to give us a few primary details such as the number of days they want to travel, temperature preferences, budget per also ask them to choose from a set of secondary interests such as history, beaches, romance, food, shopping, architecture, etc, which are optional— they only help us understand the user’s holiday preferences.

Our system then reverse engineers this data to recommend the right destination based on their liking.

Tell us a bit about your travel guides?

Taxidio holds a huge database of proprietary travel guides for hundreds of cities across the globe. A typical travel guide would consist of one city, which has detailed information on 40+ parameters such as history, culture, food, visa requirements, transport facilities, hospitals, etc.

The travel guide is like a complete handbook of a particular city that is aimed at giving travellers all the information they need about that destination. We have curated content for over 500 cities—across 90 countries.

The guides cover more than 40 parameters and are modestly priced keeping in mind the travellers who have a restricted budget. These guides will be sold on Taxidio’s platform — both App and Web.

Also, the guides would be soon available for sale as e-books on digital publishing platforms such as Amazon.
