PMO official, Law Minister, A-G got coal report changed: CBI to SC

New Delhi: As a major twist in Coal scam, the CBI has submitted a fresh affidavit in Supreme Court confirming, that the changes done in the coal report was modified in presence of Law Minister Attorney General and the Prime Minister’s office.

The nine-page affidavit has all the details of meeting conducted on March 6th 2013 between Law Minister Ashwani Kumar, Joint Secretary in the PMO Shatrughna Singh, AK Bhalla of the Coal Ministry and Joint Director of the CBI OP Galhotra. The CBI has also detailed how the changes were made.

In the earlier week, taking a serious note on CBI’s status report on coal scam, the SC had termed this action as a “massive breach of trust” and a matter that has “shaken its foundation. The apex court also slammed the probe agency for having kept the court in the dark on the issue.
