Mr & Mrs Smith tie the knot after 9 yrs

New York :  Actors Angelina Jolie (39) and Brad Pitt (50) have finally taken the plunge after a live-in relationship of nine years. They tied the knot in a secret ceremony in France attended by their six adopted children.

Both had admitted to falling for each other while they were playing married assassins in the blockbuster Mr & Mrs Smith. It is the second marriage for Pitt, who was with first wife Jennifer Aniston for five years, and the third for Jolie. Jolie’s love life has rarely been conventional, as she has admitted to dabbling in lesbianism, threesomes and sado-masochism.

At the nuptials, Jolie reportedly walked down the aisle with her eldest sons Maddox, 13, and Pax, 10, on each arm; while her daughters Zahara, nine, and Vivienne, six, threw petals, and Shiloh, eight, and Knox, six, served as ring bearers.

Last February, Jolie underwent a double mastectomy after genetic tests indicated she had a high risk of developing breast cancer. Brad fully supported Angelina’s decision to have the surgery.

Brad says there was no better motivation for the marriage than the fact that the couple love the ‘chaos’ of their big household and the bond they all share. He explained: ‘‘I always thought that if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big. I wanted there to be chaos in the house … there’s constant chatter in our house, whether it’s giggling or screaming or crying or banging.’’

After a short family honeymoon in Nice, the couple headed to Malta on Wednesday to start shooting By ‘The Sea’, a film written and directed by the Oscar-winning actress. While details of the plotline are being kept under wraps, media reports claim that the long-time lovers will play husband and wife in the flick, which is set to be released sometime in 2016. This is one role for which they need not practice.
