13,451 fresh COVID-19 cases in India, 8.2% higher than yesterday.

India reported 13,451 fresh COVID-19 infections and 585 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 3,42,15,653, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday.

Of the new cases recorded in India on Tuesday, Kerala reported 7,163 new infections.

With this, India's active caseload remains at 1,62,661, which is the lowest in 242 days.

The active cases amount for 0.48% of culminative cases, which is the lowest since March 2020, the release said.

India also recorded 14,021 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the nation's recovery rate to 98.19%, which is the highest since the beginning of the pandemic.

The weekly positivity rate remains at 1.22% presently, while the daily positivity rate stands at 1.03%.

The country has also increased testing capacity and has, so far, tested 60.32 crore COVID-19 samples.

Under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, India has now also administered 103.53 crore vaccine doses till now.
