The state of dilemma in BJP over its candidate from Indore seat still persists. BJP on Wednesday announced its candidates from 4 seats but the candidate from Indore seat was put on hold at the last moment.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced 24 candidates for Lok Sabha elections and it has also denied ticket to 10 of its sitting MPs. The party has not yet announced its candidates from Bhopal, Indore, Sagar, Vidisha and Guna seats.

Outgoing Lok Sabha Speaker and local MP Sumitra Mahajan returned empty handed from New Delhi on Sunday as no big leader of BJP met her exclusively to discuss about her successor for Indore Lok Sabha seat. Amid speculations over probable candidate of saffron party for Indore seat, Mahajan endearingly called as Tai flew to New Delhi to attend a programme organised to mark birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar.

While BJP and Congress have finalised names of their candidates from most seats, Indore has been put on hold.  With each passing day, the curiosity among leaders and activists is rising about MP’s commercial capital as both parties have not announced their candidates till date.

Lok Sabha Speaker and local MP Sumitra Mahajan turned 76 on Friday but the birthday celebrations lacked enthusiasm as her supporters were disappointed over BJP’s announcement, which barred candidates above 75 years of age to contest Lok Sabha election.

With the election drawing closer, the political parties have been intensifying their attack on each other to influence public for getting their votes.

It is certainly no way to treat a lady and especially not one who has been the presiding officer of Parliament.

Two days after outgoing Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan announced that she was not going to contest elections, members of belonging to Marthis reached a consensus that they should seek BJP ticket for Tai’s elder son Milind Mahajan.
