The DHE also permitted college principals to further increase seats by 30 per cent, if need be and if resources allowed.
According to DHE, a report on the status of teachers in private colleges would be kept before coordination committee.
Still nearly 20 per cent seats are still vacant after third and final round of allocation of students.
The DHE cited norms laid down by University Grants Commission (DHE) in this regard.
The move has come as a major reprieve to students.
