Microsoft has finally revealed Windows 11, its next generation operating system. Microsoft also claimed that Windows 11 is “the most secure Windows yet”. With Windows 11, Microsoft is offering a more simplified user interface, and also performance and multitasking improvements.

Microsoft plans to launch Windows 11 by November end this year to the general public.

"The overall idea behind the design is to make you feel 'an incredible sense of calm,' but at the same time, the Windows team has also worked to make it a lot faster", said Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay during today's announcement. There’s also a new Windows store on Windows 11.

Microsoft has also added a new multitasking feature called 'Snap Layouts'. This feature will let you tile your windows in different layouts. You can also move files that are not in your tiled layout in a “Snap Group” which are then saved to the taskbar.

Along with this, Microsoft blending Teams into Windows 11. It’s no secret that Microsoft is bullish when it comes to Teams. It recently launched the consumer version of Teams, so it makes sense to now bring it to Windows 11, too.

“Windows widgets is a new, personalized feed, powered by AI, serving you curated content,” Panay said. “Windows Widgets” can be pulled from the left side of the screen and it is a personalised feed that’s powered by AI.
