Shenzhen: Huawei has filed a lawsuit against the US government for banning its telecommunications equipment in the country. The company has called the ban as ~unconstitutional.

Huawei Deputy Chairman, Guo Ping said that the US government has failed to present any evidence for the ban on Huawei products. The ban prevents the company from serving its US customers, Cnet reports. Ping stressed that with the lawsuit, the company is prepared to take it as the last resort against the government.

The US government has alleged that Huawei products could be used by Chinese intelligence agencies, posing a risk to national security. Recently, Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei said that his daughter, Huawei CFO, Meng Wanzhou arrest in Canada was politically motivated.

The latest action by the Chinese tech giant is in response to US President Donald Trump signing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) last year. The bill prohibits federal agencies and its contractors from buying telecommunications and video surveillance equipment from Huawei, and other Chinese companies including ZTE.
