Wimbledon: Hours after Andy Murray had waved goodbye to The Championships, local teenager Emma Raducanu lifted British spirits with an astonishing performance on No.1 Court to storm into the second week at Wimbledon.
Making her Grand Slam debut at the All England Club, the 18-year-old world No.338 held her nerve impressively and defied a ranking gap of 293 spots to outplay the Romanian Sorana Cirstea 6-3 7-5.
She is yet to drop a set and on Monday will face unseeded Australian Ajla Tomljanovic.
Nowhere in tennis makes Coco Gauff's nerves fizz like Centre Court at the All England Club. But the 17-year-old American didn't exactly look as though she was suffering from heavy legs, a hammering heartbeat and a tight arm - all the classic signs of a jumpy, nervous tennis player - as she reached the last 16 at Wimbledon for the second time.

Mirza and Mattek-Sands crash out
Indian star Sania Mirza and her American partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands on Saturday bowed out of the women's doubles event at the Wimbledon Championships following a straight-set defeat, here. Mirza, who has returned to grass court Grand Slam after three years, and Mattek-Sands lost 4-6 3-6 to the Russian pair of Elena Vesnina and Veronika Kudermetova in one hour and 28 minutes. Mirza is still alive in the tournament as she will play in the mixed doubles second round with compatriot Rohan Bopanna.
