Mumbai : Western Railway, Mumbai underlined their superiority by emerging champions for the third successive year, when they defeated RCF (Rail Coach Factory), Kapurthala 2-0 in the final of the All India Inter-Railway Hockey Championship – 2015, played at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneshwar.
The Mumbai outfit dominated the proceedings from the start and international Amit Rohidas converted a penalty corner in the opening period to give Western Railway a slender half-time lead. After switching ends Vinod Kumar doubled the lead with a second half field effort, which helped Western Railway march to victory and complete a hat-trick of title victories in this competition.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Western Railway had defeated another Mumbai-based team Central Railway 6-3 and RCF overcame Eastern Railway 7-4.
