Mumbai: Lakshya Jhawar scored twice in Utpal Sanghvi’s 4-0 victory against SVKM JV Parekh International School, Vile Parle in the final of Boys’ U-12 Div III MSSA Inter-School Football Tournament at Azad Maidan on Thursday. Both the teams got off to a positive start but wasted many chances till the half-time whistle and were unable to breach defences.
A change of strategy worked for Utpal Sanghvi as the precision missing in the first 45 minutes was visible from the start of second-half. Lakshya Jhawar soon found his rhythm and scored twice to give his team a two-goal lead. SVKM were then put under tremendous pressure and their pursuit of finding goals backfired.
Shivang Vakil and Swaraj Naik of Utpla Sanghvi scored one goal each after SVKM were committing their players forward and leaving too many gaps to be exploited. SVKM boys were unable to stage a comeback helping Utpal Sanghvi win the championship.
