This was Sri Lanka’s day as we saw a good game in that final session from the home team.

Sri Lanka had South Africa dismissed for 126 of the first two sessions, with Dilruwan Perera taking 4/46. The visiting batsmen were largely disappointing, apart from captain Faf du Plessis, who scored 64-runs in the partnership with Vernon Philander for the sixth wicket.

However, Sri Lanka weren’t done yet. Their batsmen managed to extend the lead to 272, despite Keshav Maharaj’s 3/37. They’ll hope to add a lot more to that on the third day.

Here is the match squad

Sri Lanka: Dimuth Karunaratne, Danushka Gunathilaka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Roshen Silva, Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Rangana Herath, Suranga Lakmal (capt), Akila Dananjaya, Lahiru Kumara

South Africa: Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Faf du Plessis (capt), Theunis de Bruyn, Quinton de Kock (wk), Vernon Philander, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Dale Steyn
