Mumbai: India Rush SC dished out a solid fighting performance and managed to down Kenkre FC Under-17 by a close 2-1 margin in a I Division match of the Rustomjee-MDFA League, at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Wednesday.
The Kenkre youngsters did not take much time to settle down and against the run of play opened the scoring with Dexter Fernandes hitting the target in the 22nd minute and they went into the break with slender 1-0 lead.
But, after switching sides, Indian Rush came roaring back and recovered from the 0-1 first half deficit to score twice during the second session to come out victorious. Strikers Madhav Modak in the 51st minute and Zeeyan Nevrekar 62nd minute scored the crucial goals to secure India Rush win.
Juhu Beach United and Classic Sports Club shared points as they failed to break the deadlock.
