The UEFA confirmed that the 29-year-old Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen is currently stable after collapsing on the pitch of the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen moments before half-time. There are photos of a conscious Eriksen being stretchered off the pitch, wearing an oxygen mask and with his eyes open.

Fabrice Muamba, an English retired professional footballer who played for multiple EPL clubs as a central midfielder went through the same way back in March 2012. Muamba had suffered a cardiac arrest during a televised FA Cup match between Bolton and Tottenham Hotspur from which he recovered despite his heart having stopped for 78 minutes. Following medical advice, he announced his retirement from professional football in August 2012.
