Mumbai : Over 15 thousnad runners are expected to take part in the IDBI Federal Life Insurance Mumbai Half Marathon to be held on August 21.

Starting at the iconic Oval Maidan in Churchgate, the route for this marathon will cover landmarks in South Mumbai and is all set to reacquaint participants with the awe-inspiring coastal city. Sachin Tendulkar, face of the Marathon will also be present at the event.

Providing a platform for Indian runners and promoting distance running in India, this marathon will be held across four categories – 21K Half Marathon, 10K Timed Run, 10K Corporate Relay and 5K Heritage Run. The total prize money for this event is set at Rs. 30 lakh across various categories.

The race will see runners from all walks of life and across different age groups. Octogenarian Janardan B R is the oldest participant for this event and at the age of 83; this inspirational runner is all set to motivate others.
