Bangalore: Mumbai’s top junior Rian Pandole went down to arch rival B.R. Nikshep of Karnataka in straight sets, in the R.T. Narayan Memorial National Series All India Ranking Tennis Tournament, held at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association, Bangalore.

CCI lad Pandole, who trains under renowned coach Nandan Bal and Salil Patne, lost 3-6, 2-6 following unforced errors at crucial moments in the championship round of the competition, named after South actress Ramya’s father, a tennis enthusiast.

Pandole  also finished runner-up in the All India Under-16 National Series tournament at Pune last month.“I made mistakes I shouldn’t have,” admitted Pandole, a Roger Federer fan. “I will have to work it out with my coaches and win titles instead of finishing runners-up.”
