Mumbai : Fourth seeded Mudit Dani had to produce his best while quelling the spirited challenge of Aditya Dhakappa to move into the youth boys singles quarterfinals of the MCF-All Mumbai ranking table tennis tournament, hosted by Mandpeshwar Civic Federation, at their sports complex at Borivali on Friday. Mudit after winning the opening game narrowly, found Aditya fighting back to take the second game before Mudit asserted himself to forge ahead. But Adtya did give him jitteres when he took the fifth game before Mudit studied himself to emerge 11-9, 11-13, 11-1, 11-5, 7-11, 11-5.
However, fifth seeded Harsh Maniar was shown the door by Tanmay Rane, who led 2-0 before Harsh neutralised the lead. But Tanmay was virtually unstoppable in the next two games to join Mudit in the last eight with a 11-7, 11-8, 411, 9-11, 11-5, 11-8 win.Also sidelned was third seeded Rhys Albuquerque, who was shown the door by Nishaad Lalit , who won error-prone tie 8-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-8.
