Bengaluru: The second edition of Maruti Suzuki Autocross will be held here on Saturday and Sunday with over 150 entries vying for honours, the organisers said. Local favourite and previous winner Shabbir A.R. is expected to take over new entrants along with experienced competitors Lokesh Gowda and Syed Salman Ahmed, the organisers said in a statement.

Vinay Pant, General Manager, Marketing, said: “As pioneers of motorsports in India, we are thrilled to present yet another edition of Autocross in Bangalore. “Open to amateur motorsport lovers, the Autocross helps the drivers hone their skills at a beginner level and prepares them for some of our bigger rallies like the Dakshin Dare, Raid-de-Himalaya and Desert Storm.

“Maruti Suzuki has been associated with motor sporting events for over two decades with the singular aim of encouraging interest among car enthusiasts. Additionally, this year we are keenly looking forward to crossing our participation benchmark from the previous edition.”
