Mumbai : Millat FC rallied brilliantly to overcame Salcette FC 2-1 in a well-contest and exciting First Division semi-final match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League – 2014-15, played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel, on Wednesday evening.
Salcette got off to a bright start and snatched the initiative when Suraj Menon scored the opening goal of the match in the very fifth minute. Stung by that setback, Millat regrouped and put up a determined fight back. In the 23rd minute their efforts were rewarded when Fahad Kadri netted the equaliser before Billal Khan scored the winner in the 48th minute to seal their passage to the final.
Earlier in a Second Division encounter, St. Joseph’s, Juhu proved too strong as they blanked Naseeb Reloaded by a massive 8-0 margin.
