Mumbai :  Mumbai Suburb’s Aryan Makhija, did the state proud by winning four golds with three record shattering efforts in the 41st National junior swimming championships, held at Bhopal recently. His stupendous performance earned him the award for being the outstanding swimming in the meet.

Aryan smashed a 10-year-old record in 400m set by Aditya Sangvekar (5.01.48) in 2004 as he clocked 4.50.41.

He also got a record in 800 free, by clocking 8 mins 50.48 secs. He also bettered another record set by Aaron D’souza in 2006 -16 mins 58 secs- by winning gold with a timing of 16 mins 51 secs. And to top it all he  ended with yet another gold in the 400m free style event with a timing of 4.minutes 17 secs.
