Mumbai: Mumbai Customs produced an all-round performance and proved to be too good for Central Railway as they charged to a comfortable 3-0 victory in an Elite Division match of the MDFA League at the Cooperage football ground on Wednesday morning. Seasoned midfielder Praneel Mendon opened the account for Customs scoring in the 12th minute and 12 minutes later, Prashant More scored from another raid at the Central Railway goal to double the lead. Pawan Rawat netted third goal in the 86th minute to seal the win.
Meanwhile, Western Railway SA (WR )eked out a narrow 1-0 win against Union Bank of India in another Elite Division match played at the Western Railway ground, Mahalaxmi. PT Somi scored crucial winner for Western in the 50th minute. In another match, Kenkre FC riding on Jay Bhavnani’s double strikes, tamed Bombay Gymkhana by coasting to a 4-1 win. Ajay Shah and Bharat Thapa scored the other two goals for Kenkre, while Farzaad Dastor pulled one back for the losers.
