Mumbai: While the entire horse racing circle is engrossed and want Sir Cecil to win the Kingfisher Ultra Indian Derby 2019, Free Press Journal got it straight from the horses mouth about the Derby and other contenders who could possibly make it a day on the Derby Day.This is what the experts in the field of racing had to say about the D-Day ofMumbai racing.

I think S Padmanabhan’s horse should win. His form is very good, he’s a very good individual and his mind is excellent. Every good horse is injury-prone; it’s the bad horses that don’t get injuries because if you don’t run very fast, you can’t hurt yourself. It’s the fast horses, the good horses, that hurt themselves said the renowned trainer in the racing, Said Bezon Chenoy one of the renowned trainer at the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC).

He (Sir Cecil looks good and the important things is the jockey Allan David is very happy, that is an indication that they have a good rappo which is important. S Padmanabhan, the trainer himself of the punters favourite Sir Cecil. Sir Cecil has been doing well in the recent times and I think he is the best bet, but nothing can be said what will happen in the two-odd minutes of racing. My horse Pioneer is in good nick and I hope we win.. Malesh Narredu who is among the three who have won the Mumbai Derby as a trainer and a jockey.

“Sacred Roman is in good nick after winning the Ruia Cup and he could turn the table, while Vintage is temperamental and has matured late,” said Pesi Shroff who had four runners in Derby, but has three after his main contender Roberta had to be pulled out on medical grounds. Sir Cecil is in good form and he should be the horse to beat,” said the champion jockey and trainer who also has won the Derby as a trainer and a jockey.

Mr Handsome comes from the Satish Narredu’s stable and according to the trainer he has outside chance. However, Satish feels, that there two main contenders in the name of Sir Cecil and Star Superior who look good for the race. “Mumbai track is a fast one and that is an advantage for my horse Mr Handsome, and I would say I have a outside chance. Sir Cecil is an outstanding horse but it all depends on the 2400m stretch, if the race is slow in the beginning and picks up speed later it could be good for Mr Cecil, but as this track is always seen a very fast right from the starting gates,” said Satish who won the Mumbai Derby in the year 2013 with Super Storm, which was an outsider.
