Mumbai: Khar Gymkhana Challengers and Radio Club Panthers rallied to thrilling 3-2 wins, in the seventh week of the Bombay Gymkhana Premier League billiards & snooker tournament.Challengers overcame CCI Snooker Kings in Group I, while Panthers beat JVPG Achievers in Group 2.

Former state snooker champion Nikhil Ootam gave Snooker Kings a 1-0 lead, before Raj Khandwala and Nishant Dossa won the doubles to make it 2-0 to set the stage for a clean sweep. But Deepak Khubchandani, Arjun Tejwani drew level to force the decider where Kunal Solanki snatched the 6-Ball tie over Hitesh Kotwani.

JVPG Achievers frittered away a 2-1 lead before Gaurav Bhatia won the crucial fourth tie for Panthers and Anees Jumani clinched the decider over the formidable Sanjiv Shah in the 6-Ball tie.Meanwhile, former world professional No. 7 Nalin Patel of Bombay Gymkhana Phantoms fired his fourth century break in the competition when he hit a billiards break of 129 and added an unfinished 59 against Elphinstone CC Baize Blasters who eventually won 3-1 in Group 3.

Shivaji Park Gymkhana Magicians and neighbours Park Club Samurais also snatched 3-2 wins to end an exciting week of close encounters. Magicians prevailed over Dadar Club X-Men in Group 3 where Deependra Pinkyar once again played a pivotal role for the winners.
