Mumbai : Khar Gymkhana and MLWB entered the semi-finals, in the SCS Ullal Cup for women Inter-Club Badminton Tournament, at the Cricket Club of India on Saturday.
Khar Gymkhana beat NSCI 2-0 with Radhika winning her singles and doubles, while MLWB overcame Bombay Gymkhana by the same margin. In the semi-finals, Khar Gymkhana will face CCI, while MLWB take on Goregaon Sports Club.
In the Motiram Cup for men, Matunga Gymkhana halted RCF who won the opening doubles but conceded the reverse doubles, before Sai Dinesh Reddy snatched a hard-fought 22-24, 21-17, 21-14 win over formidable Amit Kshatriya after taking a substantial lead in the decider.
Joining Matunga Gymkhana in the last four were defending champions Goregaon Sports Club, P.J. Hindu Gymkhana and Bombay Gymkhana who beat arch-rivals CCI in an exciting clash where Sagar Chopda starred for the winners.
