Mumbai : Striker Johanna Jenson’s double strikes were the highlight of Friends SC’s convincing 4-0 win against Holy Cross School in a ladies match of the 11th BWFA Football tournament – 2014. Johanna’s teammates Floriana Pereira and Vidisha Sawant, both played good supporting roles by scoring a goal each to complete the tally.

Earlier in a boy’s under-14 match, Keith D’Souza fired home three goals to lead Companeroes SC to a resounding 6-0 win against Bandra Packers. Kevin D’Souza netted a brace and Josiah Noronha added one to seal the win.

In another boys’ encounter which was a close affair, Young XI riding on Manoj Varma’s lone strike prevailed over Sea View SC by a narrow 1-0 margin.

Meanwhile, the men veteran (above 40 years) matches witnessed one-sided encounters. Bandra West Panthers blanked Bandra West Eagles by a commanding 6-0 margin. Nilesh Thakur and Michael Rocha both scored two goals each, while Nelson Mathai and Anthony Mathai added one apiece to complete the rout.

In the other match, Bandra West Lions outplayed Bandra West Tigers 4-0. Ganesh Ramugade, Ashwin D’Souza, Clarence Remedios and Gavin Vandrine, all chipped in by scoring a goal each.
