Hyderabad : Jaipur Pink Panthers hammered Dabang Delhi at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad on Wednesday. The Panthers dominated the match after a slow start to score an emphatic 51-26 victory over the team from the capital city in the 20th match of Pro Kabaddi season 4 encounter.
Rajesh Narwal played a stellar all-round role while Amit Hooda provided him great support in defense. Kashiling and Meraj had another good game, but the Delhi defense was in tatters for much of the evening.
With this win Jaipur Pink Panthers are now on the top in points table with 20 points alongwith Puneri Paltan. This is Panthers first top spot during this season. Delhi is lying low at the 7th spot in the point table. The match got off to a slow start with both the teams taking a measured approach to the contest. The game opened up when Rajesh Narwal took a touch point off Kashiling’s jersey on a do-or-die raid. Delhi was down to three men quickly as Jaipur opened up a three-point gap at 5-2 and then never looked back.
Raider of the match was Rajesh Narwal whereas Defender of the match award went to Amit Hooda.
In another match, hosts Telugu Titans defeted U Mumba 35-30. At one point the match was looking all over for U Mumba. But Mumbai players showed immense fighting spirit and even secured an all out for the hosts, but it was not enough.
Titans took early lead and went up by 3-0. At the halftime the socre was 12-9 in Titans favour. With two all outs in five minutes, Titans went up 28-17. With just 10 minutes to go Mumbai was down 31-17 but they scripted a comback which was not enough.
Meanwhile, Firebirds and Storm Queens produced the first draw in the women’s Pro Kabaddi League after the keenly-contested match ended at 14-14 stalemate.
