Mumbai: Veteran Wasim Jaffer was named captain of Mumbai for their Ranji Trophy Group A fixture against Orissa, starting on December 14, in place of the injured Abhishek Nayar who is out of the game.

“Nayar suffered a hip and ankle injury in the game against Jharkhand and is not available for this match. So too is Akbar Khan who fractured his hand in the same game. They have been replaced by Kaustubh Pawar and Balwinder Singh Sandhu (Jr),” informed Mumbai Cricket Association’s joint secretary Nitin Dalal.

Dhawal Kulkarni will be out of action for a further 15 days after suffering a fractured toe earlier this season.
