Mumbai: State junior and sub junior champion Ishpreet Singh Chadha shocked Asian 6-Red bronze medallist Laxman Rawat in a 4-3 thriller to storm into the final of the Malabar Hill Club-BSAM All India Under-25 Snooker Challenge 3 on Tuesday.

Chadha, of Bombay Gymkhana, endured a roller-coaster ride en route to a 53-10, 75-61, 17-54, 28-60, 56-15, 18-73, 72-37 win in a riveting best-of-seven frames semi-finals, after leading 2-0 and 3-2.

The early two-frame lead stood Chadha in good stead with Rawat on fire following a spectacular recovery that helped him restore parity at 3-all to force the decider. But Chadha surged ahead to a substantial and crucial lead in the final frame, aided by small breaks. It left Rawat little room to keep his hopes alive as Chadha took away the frame and match to set up a title clash with Aditya Agrawal of Indian Snooker Academy.
