The much-anticipated Test series between India and England is all set to kick start from today. The two teams will kickoff five-Test challenge in Birmingham. India hasn’t had great success on the English soil with only three wins in 17 matches. Their bad record in England is all because of English conditions where ball rarely spins and batsmen are not used to seam, swing or bounce. While India would be driven by the desire to shed the poor travellers’ tag, England would be desperate to stop the recent slide at home. India last won a Test series in England in 2007 under Rahul Dravid, and it will be no easy task ahead of the Virat Kohli-led side to duplicate that feat. Here we see the probable dream XI for Indian team:

Team India: Cheteshwar Pujara, Murali Vijay, KL Rahul, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, R Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma.

On the other hand, the 1st Test will be England’s 1000th Test and it will be up to world No.1 India to spoil the home party. In their last Test battle, England struggled against Pakistan earlier this summer season. James Anderson and Stuart Broad were not at their best in the series and must buckle up to trouble India. Since September 2017, England have only won one out of nine Tests against Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan and have been beaten twice in their last five home Tests by West Indies and Pakistan. England continues to prepare for the eventuality of Kuldeep playing in the first Test. Unlike in the ODIs, their current top order — barring Joe Root — hasn’t faced the left-arm spinner and they are wary of the surprise factor. Here we see the probable dream XI prediction for English side:

Team England: Alastair Cook, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Keaton Jennings, Moeen Ali, Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Adil Rashid and Dawid Malan.
