It is not everyday that the Swiss star turns 39, now is it? Certainly not for Roger Federer who still does not cease to amaze us with his heroics on and off the field.

Unlike most sportsmen, who would have long hung up their boots, Federer's game still appears to be as smooth as silk. The Swiss star is winning big titles, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Djokovic, Nadal and the emerging stars of men's tennis, who are younger to him by at least a decade.

1. Five Consecutive U.S. Opens

Federer was the first player since Bill Tilden to win Five U.S Opens in a row, after which the Swiss star went down as one of the greatest hard court players of all time.

Federer established himself as one of the most consistent players when reached 23 consecutive semi finals in the majors.

3. Eight Wimbledon men's single titles

Federer has won a record eight Wimbledon men's single titles in his career.

Federer has spent a record 310 weeks atop the FedEx ATP Rankings.

1. Three Grand Slams in a calendar year on three occasions

Federer is the only player who has won three Grand Slams in a single calendar year on three occasions, in 2004 and 2006-07.
