Cricket Club of India (CCI) in Mumbai stadium removed or covered the photographs of Pakistani cricketers, including their now Prime Minister and former player Imran Khan after the terror attack by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) on CRPF jawans’ convoy in Pulwama district. However, now according to a TimesNow report, pictures of Pak cricketers are still intact at the walls of Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.
To note, the CCI was the first to remove pictures of cricketers from their neighbouring country. After this, the other stadiums like Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh stadium, Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) too took down the pictures.
Meanwhile, after the attack, a debate on whether India should play Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup or not has started. According to the latest update, the CoA will meet tomorrow to take a call. The sources said the panel is likely to seek advice from the ministries of Sports, External Affairs, Home Affairs and the BCCI to take a collective and responsible decision with regards to the World Cup encounter.
