New Delhi: The IOA General Body Meeting began on a stormy note with close to 50 demonstrators under the banner of Clean Sports India protesting against the association’s officials, who have been chargesheeted in corruption cases.

The protests were held outside the venue of the meeting. IOC representatives are also in attendance at the meeting. The demonstrators shouted slogans while holding placards criticising alleged corruption in the body. ‘No place for criminals’ and ‘Retire at 70 like IOC members’ were some of the messages on the placards.

Clean Sports India President Ashwini Nachappa, convener BVP Rao, noted lawyer Rahul Mehra, former Asian marathon and champion Sunita Godara were among those who attended the protest.
