Watch! Rishabh Pant just showed us how to play hockey with a cricket bat

There is no doubt that Rishabh Pant is one among talented emerging batsmen of Indian cricket. The left-handed wicketkeeper has impressed everyone after his commendable performance during England and Australia tour. What differentiates Pant from other batsmen are his unique shots while batting which is completely new and, sometimes, bizarre.

One such shot was played by Pant during the net practice in Wellington before first T20 match against New Zealand. A video was shared by BCCI in which Pant was seen playing an unknown yet amazing shot. Imitating a backhand hit in hockey, Pant played the shot while hitting the nets during practice. Have a look at the video below.

Many new shots have been invented by batsmen over the years. MS Dhoni’s ‘helicopter shot’ and Virender Sehwag’s ‘upper cut’ are some of the widely popular shots among Indian cricket fans. It seems like Rishabh Pant’s backhand hit would also get a nickname and become popular among fans in near future. Have a better description for the shot? Tell Us!
