The strange ways of getting out is a very popular event, which is often seen in the present Indian Premier League season. Now, Ish Sodhi of Rajasthan Royals (RR) is the latest batsman to join this list due to the manner in which he was dismissed in yesterday’s match.
While playing against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens yesterday, one of the most unlucky events for RR was the way New Zealand player Ish Sodhi got out. He was dismissed by KKR’s Prasidh Krishna while being caught by the wicketkeeper. But there were confusions regarding his dismissal.
Earlier, it was thought that the ball hit Sodhi’s bat and took a bounce on the field and then went into hands of wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik. Even the umpires were confused as they were sure there was a bounce for the ball after hitting the bat.
When the decision went upstairs to third umpire, it was revealed that the ball hit Sodhi’s bat and then took a bounce on his shoe and went straight into the wicketkeeper’s gloves. The decision went on KKR’s favour. The dismissal became one of the bizarre and strange events as there are very few instances when a batsman has got out in such a unique way.

RR had a tough day as they were not able to put up a big score and lost the match by 6 wickets. RR batsmen failed to perform well and most of them got dismissed cheaply. It was quite unfortunate for RR to lose the match, which was very crucial for entering playoffs. While making 142 in the first innings, RR lost the match to KKR by six wickets. Kuldeep Yadav was selected as man of the match as he took four wickets while giving away only 20 runs in his four over spell.
