London: Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has quashed rumours surrounding around Lionel Messi’s potential move to join the Blues, saying that Barcelona star forward is happy at the club.
Fabregas, who is close friends with the Argentina skipper, said that Messi was happy at Barca and they were happy with him too, the BBC reported.
Unhappy with media speculation, he said that he was upset they say that he could be mediating for Messi to come to Chelsea, adding that he was only a footballer, the report added.
Earlier in the week, it was alleged that Barcelona striker was unhappy under coach Luis Enrique and considering a move to English Premier League side Chelsea.
In response, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu said that Messi has a contract until 2018 adding that he is happy with the club and wants to win more titles.
