Mumbai : Central Bank of India produced a good steady performance and capitalised on the chances that came their way to record a convincing 2-0 win against PIFA Colaba in an evenly contested Elite Division match of the MDFA League 2015-2016.
The Central Bank showed better understanding and teamwork and managed to create more of the chances against the Colaba side, who fought on gamely and also had a fair share of scoring opportunities.
After the initial period failed to produce a goal, Central Bank finally managed to score when their experienced striker Russell Galbano found the back of the net in the 29th minute. PIFA Colaba tried hard to get an equaliser but their attackers were kept under control by a competent Central Bank defence.
The bankers struck a late second goal through the efforts of new recruit Royston Viegas in the 84th minute to seal a deserving victory and pocket all the three points.
