Mumbai: Central Bank of India put up a solid combined performance to record and authoritative 3-0 win over local outfit Sporting Union, Indore to storm in the semi-final round of the Prakash Sonkar Memorial Gold Cup All-India football tournament, played at the Municipal ground, Indore.

MDFA Super Division champion, Central Bank, totally dominated the proceeding in this quarter-final encounter and scored at regular intervals through a goal each from Rehman Ansari, Andrew Cardoz and seasoned Ubaid Ansari to seal their win and passage to the penultimate round.

In contrast, Sporting Union fought on gamely and their midfielders worked hard to try and create openings for their strikers. But the Central Bank defenders put up a dogged display to thwart the forays of the rival attackers and ensure that their citadel remained intact.
