Mumbai: In a game filled with fouls Cavalry/Krishna Polo managed to edge past Madon Polo 8-7 to advance to the finals of the Aditya Memorial Birla Polo Tournament played at ARC Grounds, Mahalaxmi on Friday. The Cavalry started with a goal within 40 seconds of the match. Cavalry were on the attack soon after and missed the mark by inches. In the 5th minute Simran Shergill scored a perfect penalty of a foul to equalise the scores for Madon Polo.

Simran Shergill took the control of the ball within seconds of scoring the goal and charged alone with Vishal chasing him closely but Vishal was unable to stop Simran from scoring the second goal for Madon Polo helping them lead the game 2-1. Col Ravi Rathore scored an equaliser via penalty for Cavalry with 10 seconds left on the clock for the 1st Chukker. Ashwani Sharma started strong in the second chukker picking up a great pass to help Cavalry to a 3-2 lead.

However, Cavalry could not sustain the lead as an unstoppable Simran Shergill scored his 3rd goal minutes later. A rough game between the two teams resulted in a penalty in favour of Cavarly which was easily put away by Ravi Rathore helping his team get a 1 point lead at 4-3.

Ravi Rathore was leading from the front for Cavalry scoring two more goals to give his team a three point lead at 6-3. Madon polo had a chance to equalise but were unlucky as Simran Shergill missed 2 penalty chances.
Kuldeep Rathore of Madon Polo held a sway in the third chukker, scored two goalswhile, Col Ravi Rathore managed to score only one goal .

Madon Polo was closing in with the scoreline reading 5-7 in the favour of Cavalry at the end of the third chukker. In the final chukker, Kuldeep scored another goal for his team early in the game but Cavalry fought back courtesy of Col Rathore to take the score to 8-6. A late fightback from Simran got a crucial goal for Madon polo but it was too late as they were still trailing by one point at the final bell helping Cavalry advance to the finals.
