Mumbai football tournament: Campion School B bags 3-1 victory over Don Bosco A

Mumbai: Campion School B, riding on the brilliance of striker Yusuf Pardiwala, went on to win 3-1 against the mighty Don Bosco A, Matunga in the exciting semi-final of the Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA) organised Under-8 boys knockout football tournament played at MSSA ground, Azad Maidan here on Thursday.

After a barren first half, Yusuf netted twice in a span of four minutes to put Campion ahead and Affan made it 3-0 in their favour. The former champions, Don Bosco could not make a come back but managed to pull one back through Naveen.  Campion will take on Bombay Scottish who scored a solitary goal win over St. Stanislaus. Josh Thomas scored the match winner. The final is slated to be held on Friday.

World & National Champion Prashant More (Mumbai) and State & ICF Cup Champion Kajal Kumari (Mumbai) have been top seeded in the 11th Maharashtra State Ranking Carrom Tournament, organised by Shivaji Park Gymkhana under the auspices of Mumbai District Carrom Association and Maharashtra Carrom Association to be held from march 9. This four-day contest has attracted 450 entries in both men and women section, and has prize money at stake for the winners.
