Mumbai : Vibgyor, Goregaon snatched an exciting 31-26 win over Vidyaniketan, Dombivali to enter the girls’ under-13 final, in the 2nd Don Bosco Inter School Basketball Championship, at Don Bosco, Matunga. Leading 13-8 at half-time, Vibgyor endured a stiff challenge from Vidyaniketan who narrowed the margin to 18-20 at the end of the third quarter to set the stage for a tight finish. Vibgyor held on to a slender advantage in the fourth and final quarter with Tulsha, who top scored with 10 points for the winners, keeping them ahead with crucial baskets. Vidyaniketan’s Rhucha also scored 10 points. Earlier in the quarter-finals, St. Anthony’s, Chembur prevailed over Cathedral & John Connon 9-4, while Vibgyor beat Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania, Thane 21-2. Divine Child, Andheri tamed St. Anthony’s 25-4 to enter the girls’ under-11 final. Earlier, in the quarter-finals, Anthony’s prevailed over Cathedral 15-0, while Divine Child halted Apostolic Carmel 35-0.
