In a shocking and controversial decision, India Women’s T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur dropped Mithali Raj from playing XI against England Women in crucial semi-final at the recently concluded ICC World T20. This left fans and cricket fraternity in shock and equally surprised. And, now, as per a report in Mid-Day, India’s ODI captain is considering taking retirement from T20s.

A source was quoted in Mid-Day saying, throughout the tournament, Mithali struggled to get peaceful sleep as there was no clarity of her role in team and batting spot. She was told of not being included in playing XI after the warm up on the same day of match.

Meanwhile, as of now, BCCI is investigating the omission of Mithali from the semis. In the ICC World T20, Mithali scored two back-to-back half centuries proving her worth. Earlier also, Mithali gave a hint that this World T20 could be her last.
