Pune: A day after the lathicharge on hearing and speech impaired, the chief minister has finally taken notice. There have been critical reactions from across the state against the police action. Fadnavis has asked for a detailed inquiry. He further gave instructions to the minister for social justice, Dilip Kamble to look into the matter.
The Opposition, media and the citizens expressed their anger over the inhuman action by Pune police. The issue was also raised in the legislative assembly on Tuesday. Kamble assured of the action against the cops who resorted to the canecharge and also the officials who have not yet addressed the demands of the protesters. Supriya Sule went over to the social welfare commissioner’s office and met the protesters.
They communicated their demands and issues through an interpreter with whom they interacted in sign language. Both Kamble and Sule assured the hearing and speech youths of getting to commit on their demands. Sule said, “This is not a Fadnavis government, but of General Dyer.”
Maharashra Navnirman Sena chief, Raj Thackeray strongly condemned the action, saying their curse would fall on the government. He showered the BJP-led government with strong criticism. “What kind of a government is this, which lathicharges those who cannot hear and speak,” said Raj.
