Food delivery boy thrashed by five men in Pune

A video of a Zomato delivery boy being beaten up by five men in Pune went viral on social media on Monday.

Pune: A video of a Zomato delivery boy being beaten up by five men in Pune went viral on social media on Monday. In the video, one of the accused can be seen beating the victim, Praveen Kadam, with a stick till the latter collapses.

The accused fled the spot soon after, but a case of assault has been registered against unidentified people at Alankar police station. A search for the accused is under way. According to police, the incident occurred at Nal Stop and the entire incident has been captured on CCTV camera.

Kadam said the accused had ordered food from the food delivery app, Zomato. When he reached the location with the food, the men began arguing with him over the order. They then brutally beat up Kadam and fled. Police have booked the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for assault.
