Pune: Little did Nargis knew watching Pakistani serial on cellphone would cost her heavily. The accused husband Asif Sattar Nayab (40), brutally attacked his wife, Nargis after he caught her watching Pakistani serial on her cellphone. This incident occurred in Salisbury Park, on Monday evening.
In a statement to Swar Gate police, Nargis filed a complaint saying, her husband lost his temper when he caught her watching a Pakistani serial on her cellphone. He broke right hand thumb.
Asif works as a worker who erects hoardings and Nargis is a home maker, who have two children. Asif and Nargis had a heated argument on Monday morning and they were not talking to each other. After Asif returned from his work in the evening, Nargis got up and rushed inside the bedroom. He followed her and tried to speak to her.
Nargis was rather engrossed watching the Pakistani serial on his cellphone. Asif told the police later, he was enraged as he felt, his wife, Nargis was more interested in watching a Pakistani serial, instead of talking to him. He claims, he tried speaking to her nicely.
Enraged Asif picked up a sickle and began to hit her. Fearing for her life and face, Nargis raised her right hand to cover her face, while Asif cut her thumb. Nargis began screaming and howling, after she began bleeding. The neighbours rushed to save Nargis and admitted her to the hospital. After taking her statement, Swar Gate police arrested Asif.
