Pune: Preparations for Ashadhi Ekadashi are under way in Pandharpur. Palkhis of Sant Tukaram and Sant Eknath are headed to Vithoba's temple to observe the auspicious occasion. This year, the temple has been lovingly illuminated both inside and outside by Pune resident, Vinod Jadhav, who always cherished a desire to do so and his dreams are seeing the light of day.
His labour of love took five days to accomplish and shone brightly on Saturday night. For the first time, the Vithoba temple looked like a palace, both inside and out. There are special lights at Maha Dwaar, Rukmini Dwaar and Pashchim Dwaar as well as at Tukaram Bhavan and the darshan mandap. The Namdev steps have been lit with LED 'garlands'. The temple dome has coloured lights, giving an enchantingly divine look to Vithoba's abode.
