When it comes to travelling, there is a lot to consider. From the day you decide to make a trip, to the day of the trip, there is a lot of planning taking place. Depending on where you are heading, the preparations time might vary. If however, you are planning on heading out of the country, you would need to get yourself a visa. These are not always difficult to come by, but they add an additional layer to your planning process.

Here are a few details about visas.
Broadly speaking there are four different types of visas, tourist visa, immigration and naturalization visas, student visas, and business or work visas. A tourist visa is usually the easiest to receive. Although there are some instances where people aren’t given their visas because of previous encounters or past history, overall these are not tough to get your hands on. Furthermore, tourist visas are usually for smaller trips and require you to provide an arrival and exit ticket from the country.

An immigration visa is a little tougher to come by since it means moving to another country. Most countries are fine with you visiting but do not want you to stay for too long. This means you have to submit a lot more paperwork, and also would need a lot of references and verifications. An immigration visa could take a long time to receive ranging from a few months to even a year.

Student visas are also quite easy to get your hands on. However, in most instances, students need to receive an invitation from the college. They would have to accept and invite you to a program that you applied for in the past. Although the application to the college does need a lot of paperwork, the visa application is quite straight forward.

Work visas are probably the toughest to come by since you would be entering another country looking for a job. Most countries are not in favour of this although there are some exceptions to the rule. However, you would be in a better position to make this work if you were sent by the company to work at an overseas office, usually making the transition smoother.

Different countries have varying rules about the people entering. While some have opened their borders to welcome everyone, others prefer staying to themselves and working with their own people. Although there are exceptions to the rule, separate visas have a different processing time depending on your verification as well. Overall, the time that it would take to receive any visa is made clear when you go through the visa application process. Once you have a couple of visas on your passport, travelling overall is a lot easier, however, if you want to stay, you might still find yourself struggling a little.
