Palghar : Crime rate in Nalasopara refuses to descend in spite of bifurcation of its jurisdiction by commencement of the new Tulinj police station as a youth was murdered in cold blood by drug addicts.

Vaibhav Palande (24), a resident of Sankheshwar Nagar, Nalasopara east, was mercilessly bludgeoned to death allegedly by drug addicts on Friday night. Preliminary reports said that he had major head injuries as he was bludgeoned to death with the help of a huge stone.

Palande used to work in Mahananda Dairy, Goregaon and had gone to meet his friends on Friday evening around 8:30. Family members said that even if he is late, he does return home but were worried as he didn’t turn up on Friday night. It was early morning when locals saw the dead body of a youth near an unused water hand-pump and identified it as Vaibhav and informed the cops and his family. His body was found in a pool of blood with severe head injuries and a huge piece of blood stained rock was found near him.

Senior Inspector Bajirao Kalantare of Tulinj police station, Nalasopara east, said, “We have recovered few evidences from the spot which will help us identify the culprits behind this inhuman act very fast. We have filed a case under section 302 against unknown people and further investigations are on.”

One end of Sankeshwar Nagar has a ground, which is often secluded post evening and people avoid using this location for travel purpose as this place is always swarmed with addicts. These addicts often attack people for petty things which could help them buy drugs and suffice their needs. The cops in the past have repeatedly tried to shoo them away but they return to this secluded spot as this is their den.
